KIM’S PERSONAL STORY…

 When our son was 16 years old, he contracted mononucleosis. He was on the road to recovery, but unbeknownst to us and in a very rare occurrence, the virus traveled to his spine and then into his brain. This caused encephalitis and swelling of the brain, which then caused seizures. Because this happened during the night, we were unaware, and the seizing went on for hours. He spent a week in the hospital and then months of recovery at home as he tried to readjust to his new normal with an acquired brain injury. This brain injury presented a significant decrease in his ability to focus, short-term memory issues, and a sleep disorder that made him feel exhausted and never fully awake, no matter how much he slept. School had always been easy, but it became very difficult. Although he showed great perseverance, every day was a struggle. We tried a more balanced diet, nutritional supplements, strategic napping, and several different medications, but nothing was bringing relief. After seven years, we found IASIS Microcurrent Neurofeedback, which was the miracle we had been praying for. He began to feel like himself. He could do his schoolwork with ease again. He could have conversations with people and feel fully present because of no brain fog. He could remember more clearly what someone told him the day before. He felt rested when he woke up in the mornings. Life was back to normal for him. It was then that I realized God had put this amazing treatment in our path, not only for my son’s healing but also for other people with their own difficult stories.
